Introduction:  Patek Philippe 3438J vintage automatic Calatrava made in 18K yellow gold.  The watch measures 30.5mm, One of the smallest Automatic watches made.  With snap back case, silver white dial with raised baton hour markers and hands.  The watch is fitted with an 27-460 36-jewel automatic movement # 1110045; case# 310742.  The watch was manufactured in 1960 with the 45th numbered 27-460 caliber  movement.  The watch is accompanied with an extract from the archives certificate confirming its date of manufacture and further sale.  Further with a black alligator strap.

Essay:  The 3438 was introduced in 1960 when Patek Philippe launched there 27-460 caliber Automatic 36-jewel movement.  This example is the 45th of the new movement series.  The 3438 is probably the smallest Automatic watch Patek has made.
